Family Owned and Operated Since 1994Brentwood Builders was founded in 1994 by husband-and-wife team Tyke and Judith Johnson, and has been designing and building luxury custom homes across Nashville and Middle Tennessee ever since. Today the company is in its second generation—and every home still gets the family’s full attention.
Our Founders
Tyke is an old framer. He came up swinging a hammer, learned every phase of homebuilding firsthand, then quit his job as an engineer to start Brentwood Builders. Judith is an accountant turned designer. The CPA discipline never left, and it’s why our budgets hold. Today she leads our in-house design studio, JJ’s Interiors.

But Brentwood Builders is far more than its founders. Behind every home is a deep bench of knowledgeable designers, engineers, craftsmen, realtors, and selections coordinators—many of whom have built with us for decades. We keep good people, and it shows in the homes.
